🥭Special Updates 🥭

Dear friends and grafters,

Budwood: Final Mango Scions check of the year

We wanted to give you an update and let you know that mango budwood season will be coming to an end soon.

The final deadline for budwood checklist submissions containing mango will be this Saturday August 26th at 1:00 pm. We will conduct the last budwood check  for mango on Sunday August 27th and invoices will be sent out on Sunday night and Monday.

*** No mango budwood will be sold after August 31st, and it will not be available again until April of next year. Absolutely No exceptions.***

Avocado, Sapodilla, Mamey and Green Sapote budwood will continue to be available the rest of the year. Any changes to the weekly check schedule will be noted on the budwood page of our website

A few other important considerations:

We are receiving extremely heavy interest in some specific varieties, particularly including Zill M-4, Sugarloaf, Piña Colada, Sonpari, Lemon Meringue and Cecilove.

Please note that if you are going to request these, the likelihood of us finding enough scions with active buds for these varieties for everyone requesting them is very low. Therefore if you feel confident in grafting with dormant material, we highly recommend letting us know you’ll accept dormant buds in lieu of swelling buds if we aren’t able to find any for you.

  • If you would like to allow for dormant material should active buds be unavailable for some of the varieties you are seeking, simply send us an email to tropicacresfarms@gmail.com letting us know immediately AFTER you make your submission with reference to your checklist information. Most of the time this will guarantee that every item on your checklist is available.

  • If you submit a checklist and afterwards decide you would like to add more varieties before the August 26th deadline, simply submit an additional checklist through the website and they will get merged together.

  • Make sure when making your submission that your email address is spelled correctly, all your relevant information is correct and REMEMBER to check your email for receipt of your budwood invoice Monday and Tuesday. Don’t forget to Check your spam folder as well. We may attempt to contact you to follow up if necessary.

  • As always, unless otherwise requested, invoices will only contain varieties for which active buds were found. We will not be able to make any changes to your invoice. Failure to pay invoice for any reason will result in forfeiture of your check fee deposits.

FRUIT STAND: Closed for the Season

Our fruit stand is now closed for the season. We are posting any remaining fruit for preorder pickup on our webshop at night between 8pm and 10pm EST. Fruit shipping season has closed as well.

Potted Trees and grafting requests

We have completed an inventory of our 15 gallon, 7, and 3 gallon trees.

1 gallon inventory is expected to be completed by some point in September but you may request to see if any varieties are available in 1 gallon and we can check for you.

Friendly Reminder that we only ship trees in 3 and 1 gallon sizes upon request.

15 and 7 gallon trees must be picked up directly at the farm.

We are still accepting orders for grafted trees for this year’s grafting season, which will conclude in October. If there is any variety you’ve been wanting to add to your collection, now is a great time to place a graft order for a tree that will be ready in Spring/Summer. Remember shipping is now available to all 50 states! (additional cost for CA and AZ due to phytosanitary requirements).

We are always accepting grafting requests, so if there’s a special variety you’ve been wanting to get and can’t seem to find, you can place the order in the variety page on our website and we can graft one for you, or reserve one for you which we’ve already grafted.

Website Update

We have added some additional varieties to our collection, as well as updated the descriptions of all our existing trees to reflect what information we have as of 2023.

For any questions you may have, please email us at tropicalacresfarms@gmail.com or call us at 561-329-6066.

We’ll be happy to answer.

Best wishes
