We are only able to graft twice a year, Late Spring & Late Summer.
- If we receive the order between after September 24th and before May 1st, The trees will be grafted in Spring & should be ready by the end of the year.
- For orders made after May 01st and before of September 24th will be grafted in late Summer and should be ready in the Spring following year, May most likely.
Only Once the small tree has completed two flushes of growth since it was grafted do we consider it ready to leave our nursery.
(Estimated time is 6 to 8 months. Some varieties take longer time to growth)
40-26 was a Julie seedling from the breeding project of Gary Zill in Boynton Beach, FL. It may have the 'Gary' mango in its parentage as well.
We planted a small tree in 2015 or 16 and it started producing fruit in 2017. They are very small, oval-to-round shaped fruit and turn greenish-yellow at maturity, softening while still on the tree.
The flesh is very soft, yellow and fiberless. The seed is small and monoembryonic.
The flavor is exceptional, in both the citrus and the coconut flavor group with terrific sweetness. It tastes very similar to the Gary mango but with better production habit with a stronger tendency to produce female flowers. It appears fairly disease resistant, including having good resistance to bacterial black spot.
We're excited about 40-26 and finally planted a second tree in 2022.
Flavor: Coconut
Country: Florida - USA
