Quantité

This mango was sent to Florida by David Fairchild from Saigon in then-French Indochina in spring of 1902. It was among the earliest introductions to be made to Florida from South East Asia and thus is one of the oldest cultivated varieties here.

In French Indochina it was reportedly known under the name 'Xoi Voi'. It was recognized for its good production and excellent anthracnose resistance. The fruit is small, oval and light yellow in color.

The flesh is fiberless and has a mellowed sweet Indochinese-type flavor, containing a polyembryonic seed.

Cambodiana was likely a parent of the Zill Indochinese (Zinc) mango, and its aroma is strikingly similar to Zinc's progeny Sweet Tart and Venus.

It is an early season mango ripening primarily in May and June here. The tree has a very vigorous, extremely vertical/upright growth habit with open canopy, and has flowered eratically in our warm winters. The fruit have displayed excellent disease resistance to all major diseases.

Flavor: Indochinese

Country: Vietnam
