Cat Hoa Loc is perhaps the best known mango in Vietnam and highly sought after by people from there. It is grown on major commercial scale in its homeland and has been exported overseas.
The fruit is medium sized, yellow at maturity with an oblong-sigmoid shape. The stem is characterized by a faint but visible "ring" (see photo). The fesh is yellow, fiberless, and has a high quality, rich Indochinese-group type flavor. The seed is polyembryonic.
We planted a couple trees in 2017. They started fruiting in 2019 and have been low-to-medium producers thus far. They have a moderately vigorous, vertical growth habit with open canopy. The fruit ripen from June through July and have very good disease resistance.
Flavor: Indochinese
