IMPORTANT READ BEFORE Make your Grafting Request Order
We are only able to graft twice a year, Late Spring & Late Summer.
- If we receive the order between after September 24th and before May 1st, The trees will be grafted in Spring & should be ready by the end of the year.
- For orders made after May 01st and before of September 24th will be grafted in late Summer and should be ready in the Spring following year, May most likely.
Only Once the small tree has completed two flushes of growth since it was grafted do we consider it ready to leave our nursery.

This mango is from Cuba, and the name in Spanish means "black". The fruit are small, ovate, and often stay green when ripe. The flesh is orange, moderately fibrous, with a *very* sweet classic-group flavor. In fact prieto, despite its unimpressive appearance, is probably one of the better classic flavored mangos. The seed is polyembryonic.
Prieto trees grow slowly, and are very manageable despite a vertically orientated growth habit. We have two in the ground at this time and they've been reasonably productive. The trees flower very easily in south Florida's climate. Prieto hasn't had many issues with bacterial black spot but the fruit are prone to anthracnose spotting after harvest which can make them look ugly, but doesn't impact internal quality.
