This mango is from India and may be related to 'Banganapalli' aka 'Baneshan' (not to be confused with Alampur Baneshan), which is also called 'Safeda' in parts of India. Photographs of 'Safeda Lucknow' fruit grown in Florida display a fruit that is different from Banganapalli however, and the foliage is different too, confirming it to be a unique cultivar.
We grafted it in 2019 for evaluation after obtaining budwood from the Tropical Research and Education Center in Homestead. As of 2023, the tree has yet to flower but has grown healthy. It has a vertical growth habit with a dense canopy, and a moderately vigorous rate of growth.
