IMPORTANT READ BEFORE Make your Grafting Request Order
We are only able to graft twice a year, Late Spring & Late Summer.
- If we receive the order between after September 24th and before May 1st, The trees will be grafted in Spring & should be ready by the end of the year.
- For orders made after May 01st and before of September 24th will be grafted in late Summer and should be ready in the Spring following year, May most likely.
Only Once the small tree has completed two flushes of growth since it was grafted do we consider it ready to leave our nursery.

This mango is from Hawaii, and was named because when it was discovered growing in an old orchard it had some "steps" attached to its imbs . It is thought to be derived from Totapuri (aka Sandersha or Bangalora). There is a strong physical resemblance between the two, but Step has much better eating quality.
The fruit are medium-to-large in size, oblong-shaped and stay relatively green with a hint of red blush when ripe. The flesh is firm, fiberless, and has a pleasant mild Indian/West Indian flavor. It contains a monoembryonic seed.
Our Step tree has grown slowly since planting in 2014, fruiting for the first time in 2017 and producing consistently ever since. The canopy is dense and spreading.
It is a mid-season fruit in Florida ripening in July to August, and has a rather short season. For the last several years the fruit have displayed good disease resistance despite its parentage, and the fruit has been very popular despite Step being relatively unknown. It is a mango that deserves more planting than it has received.
