(Estimated time is 6 to 8 months. Some varieties take longer time to growth)
This was a selection from the breeding program of Gary Zill in Boynton Beach, FL . The parentage is unrecorded.
Until 2020, Each time it had flowered, it produced excessive numbers of male flowers and hadn't set much fruit. In 2019 the tree produced, and the fruit bear strong physical and flavor similarity to Haden, but with more of an orange hue skin color. The fruit improved in eating quality and production in 2020 and has fruited annually since. The flesh is quite firm, but not fibrous. The flavor is in the classic group and it has a monoembryonic seed. It is a mid-season variety for us, maturing from late June into July. It has a habit of developing a large anthracnose spot on the skin toward the top portion of the fruit.
O-29 has a spreading growth habit and is moderately vigorous.
