IMPORTANT READ BEFORE Make your Grafting Request Order

Spring Grafted Trees should be ready the following Fall. Deadline is May 01

Late Summer & Fall Grafted Trees should be ready the following Spring. Deadline is October 01

A Pre-Order Grafting Request is an order for us to produce the specific tree that we don't currently have available in stock. We must graft the tree and then it must go through a multi-month process to heal and grow. Only Once the small tree has completed two flushes of growth since it was grafted do we consider it ready to leave our nursery.

Monroe is a West Indian-Guatemalan hybrid, thought to be a cross between the Waldin and Eagle Rock cultivars.

The seed grew in 1932 in the Redland Avocado Grove in Homestead, Florida and fruited in 1935 and was patented in 1937.

Monroe was quickly recognized for excellent commercial potential due to very high eating quality, strong steady production and good fruit size.

It has risen to become one of the leading grown late-season varieties among producers in Florida, as well as a common back yard tree.

The fruit are green, elliptically shaped, with good flesh seed ratio, and yellow, creamy flesh with a pleasant nut flavor.

Monroe produces B-type flowers and the fruit matures from November to January in south Florida.

Race: West Indian-Guatemalan hybrid.

Flower type: B

Country: Florida - USA
