IMPORTANT READ BEFORE Make your Grafting Request Order

We are only able to graft twice a year, Late Spring & Late Summer.
  • If we receive the order between after September 24th  and before May 1st, The trees will be grafted in Spring & should be ready by the end of the year.
  • For orders made after May 01st  and before of September 24th  will be grafted in late Summer and should be ready in the Spring following year, May most likely.

Preorder: Graft Me a 1 Gallon Tree is an order for us to produce the specific tree that we don't currently have available in stock.
We must graft the tree and then it must go through a multi-month process to heal and grow.
Only Once the small tree has completed two flushes of growth since it was grafted do we consider it ready to leave our nursery.
(Estimated time is 6 to 8 months. Some varieties take longer time to growth)

This mango is from Miami, FL and was selected by Frank Smathers, who owned Four Fillies Farm in Coral Gables and named it after one of his grand children.

The fruit are oval shaped, yellow at maturity and medium sized, with yellow flesh containing a monoembryonic seed and fiberless texture. The flavor is in the Indian-Alphoso class and has some similarities to Carrie and Edward, and we speculate it to be a hybrid of the two. It is not as strongly flavored as Carrie though and thus we've noticed its flavor has more widespread acceptance with customers.

Ryan has been a sluggish grower, with spreading, compact habit and dense canopy. Thus far it has been a somewhat shy bearer but we are hoping the tree's production will improve with age. It has been relatively disease resistant but somewhat prone to post-harvest anthracnose of the fruit. It has not had any issues with mango bacterial black spot however.
