IMPORTANT READ BEFORE Make your Grafting Request Order
We are only able to graft twice a year, Late Spring & Late Summer.
- If we receive the order between after September 24th and before May 1st, The trees will be grafted in Spring & should be ready by the end of the year.
- For orders made after May 01st and before of September 24th will be grafted in late Summer and should be ready in the Spring following year, May most likely.
Preorder: Graft Me a 1 Gallon Tree is an order for us to produce the specific tree that we don't currently have available in stock.
We must graft the tree and then it must go through a multi-month process to heal and grow.Only Once the small tree has completed two flushes of growth since it was grafted do we consider it ready to leave our nursery.
(Estimated time is 6 to 8 months. Some varieties take longer time to growth)
This mango is from Kenya and is sometimes just called Tyler (not to be confused with a mango by the same name found in Merritt Island). It has a distinctive round shape similar to that of Cushman or Rumani.
It has a yellow, fiberless flesh with a classic flavor. We have observed that it can go overripe quickly.
We planted a Tyler Premier in 2017 for evaluation and it fruited in 2019. It has fruited several times since and is a decent producer. It hasn't had too many disease issues but can easily develop splits in the skin after periods of rainfall. It is a mid-season mango ripening primarily in July here.
