IMPORTANT READ BEFORE Make your Grafting Request Order
We are only able to graft twice a year, Late Spring & Late Summer.
- If we receive the order between after September 24th and before May 1st, The trees will be grafted in Spring & should be ready by the end of the year.
- For orders made after May 01st and before of September 24th will be grafted in late Summer and should be ready in the Spring following year, May most likely.
Preorder: Graft Me a 1 Gallon Tree is an order for us to produce the specific tree that we don't currently have available in stock.
We must graft the tree and then it must go through a multi-month process to heal and grow.Only Once the small tree has completed two flushes of growth since it was grafted do we consider it ready to leave our nursery.
(Estimated time is 6 to 8 months. Some varieties take longer time to growth)
This mango is from Gary Zill's breeding program in Boynton Beach, FL and was a 'Keitt' seedling. 'East Indian' may have been its pollen parent.
The tree makes a fruit that has a flavor reminiscent of 'East Indian' but without a considerable level of fiber, and thus can be sliced and eaten instead of just used for juicing.
The fruit are rather small and may be prone to bacterial black spot, but this requires further evaluation.
Our tree first fruited in 2021 but then failed to fruit in the 2022 season. 3-12 is a late season mango.
