This mango has been growing in Delray Beach, FL for a very long time; the original tree appears to be quite ancient. It was at some point brought to the attention of Walter Zill due to its reputed flavor, and he grafted several on his own property after being impressed by it himself, later giving it the name 'Apricot'.
The fruit are small, yellow in color with a bit of orange blush possible. The flesh is fiber-free, with a very rich Indian flavor that does contain strong hints of Apricot, hence the name. We were very impressed with the fruit the last several years, and obtained the graftwood for our tree from Walter Zill in 2019. We're excited to evaluate it going forward.
