This mango is a Haden-seedling originally from Bradenton, FL, and was selected by Asa Pillsbury who resided in Palma Sola and was involved with the Florida mango Industry in the first half of the 20th century. It was originally known as 'Pillsbury's Improved Haden', and was at one time propagated in the nursery trade on the West coast of Florida.
The fruit is round in shape, turning a brighter shade of red than Haden, with a fiberless flesh. The trees are also known to bear heavier than the Haden as well.
We grafted Pillsbury in 2019.
